51 F1 column bracket to dash

I gave my original column and steering box to a buddy to put in his 30 model tudor and I think I either gave him the column to dash bracket or I have lost it somewhere. Anyway, I have been looking high and low in every catalog I have and on websites and this seems like a hard item to find. Anyone know who sells them or have one you want to sell? It is the bracket that bolts to the bottom of the dash that your steering column stabs through. I could fab one, but I would like to have the real thing if I can find it.

Thanks

Heya Galaxy500, I might have what yer lookin for. I'm not gonna use the original steering components on my '50 F1. I'll take a look at my pile of spare parts when I get home later this evening to see if I have it. I can email you a pic if ya wanna see it to. If you don't have an email on yer profile, then just shoot me an email under my profile and I'll reply back to you.

Hey I appreciate it cigarxtc. I am not positive, but I think this bracket is the same on all the 48-52's. At least in one of my catalogs all the steering column stuff is listed 48-52. You don't really have to bother with the picture. If you do find it just shoot me an email through my profile. I have it setup in there. And again thanks for looking.

Galaxy500,
I might have one also. I replaced my column with a tilt/telescoping from a Caddy and had to fabricate a new drop. I'll look in my parts bin also and see if its there. If Cigarxtc can't find his, I might be able to find mine.

Good luck

I hope to use my modifed ( increased angle) stock bracket to mount my 90 Crown Vic steering column; I was able to find spare one from 48 F3.

Thanks guys. I thought I would just give it a shot. I have a newer non-tilt column and it looks like at worst I might have to make the hole a little bigger for the stock bracket to work. I might not even have to do that. I just thought if I could find one it would look better than if I made one up myself. I know you guys don't have to go out of your way to look for yours so again I appreciate the help and also appreciate the info everyone chips in here.

Galaxy500,
I found the bracket last night but I'm not sure it will work for what you want. The hole in it is only about 2" in daimeter. I would be willing to part with it reasonably if you want it. I can measure the hole and even take a pic tonight if you like.

Steering bracket

All 48-51 brackets from F1 to F3 woudl work, I think.

I got a spare one from a 48 F3 and it is identical to original.

F-4 to F-6 would probally work as well since they used the same steering wheel as the F-1 to F-3.

Galaxy500,
I measured the hole in the bracket last night. It's 1 1/2" diameter

bobbytnm thanks. I think it may actually work. I am putting a column out of a 64 impala in that I came across. It is not a tilt column and the tube is fairly narrow. I will PM you to talk about it.
