6 volt batteries

6 volt batteries
I can get my hands on six 6 volt golf cart batteries for free. I want to mount them to the frame in a box to power the fridge and etc. I know from experience that the fridge runs one battery down in an 8 hour period. Anyone know of anything that will isolate and charge them at 6 volts. I'm sure I can find something to jump the voltage up to 12 volts to run my toys.
I should I just say heck with it and buy some 12 volt batteries?

Guess I'm having a senior moment this morning.
Can I hook up six in a series to get the 12 volt output?
Charging six of them in series would be the same as charging 12 volt, right?

Six 6v batteries in series will give you 36 volts, not twelve. I don't think your 12v appliances will like that, and a 12v charger won't charge them.
You need to have three pairs of batteries. Each pair is in series, and all three pairs are connected in parallel.
