I have and 04 Supercrew Fx4 and my wife is now wanting a Supercrew 4x4 also. I 'm just wondering if anyone as went from the 03 to 04 and what your thoughts were. examples : power, gas mileage, speed, and the ride. And Also has any one raced the new 3v 5.4 vs the older(03) 5.4 . I 've got a buddy from work who wants to line them up but we haven't had a chance yet just curious what the outcome would be. Thanks
I had a 2003 screw and traded it for a 2004 screw the seats in the 03 was better then
the ones in the 04 as for the power I would have to say that the 04 has that
as far as ride the 04 has that hands down
My throttle response has improved dramatically after the battery was disconnected while in the body shop. (...Don't ask... )
It really feels like a different truck now. Especially at slow speeds like when i'm trying to slowly go up a bump to get into my carport. Used to have to mash it and then slam the brakes. Not anymore!
I went from an 02 SCrew to an 04 SCrew. I wish I had the old one back. The old one had storage behind the rear seats, 04 NONE. The old one had rear seats that would fold down and lay flat so you could put bulky stuff inside the truck, 04 FORGET IT. The old one came with 16" wheels which means there is a larger selection of upgrade tires that won't kill the wallet when replacement is desired. 04 has 17", best of luck with tires. My 02 rode the same as the 04. The 02 was just as quiet as the 04. The A/C worked great in the 02, the 04 has had issues and still has. The fuel mileage is about the same and so is the power. There is more useable room inside the 02 truck, I carry lots of test equipment, the 02 was not an issue, the 04, I can't carry everything unless it is laying loose on the floor and who knows where it is by the time I get to where I'm going. The 04 standard radio is a much better sounding one. The 02 had a light under the hood, 04 NONE. The interior fabric in the 02 was far, far superior to the "even stains with pure water" crap in the 04. Both of the trucks share the typical Ford rear axle whine. Overall, I would never buy one of the newer F-150s. Far too many issues with the newer F-150. You can certainly read about a bunch of the issues on this forum, just keep going back in this forum, you can't miss them.
