I was wondering if Ford made the 99's mirrors where you could adjust the spot mirrors on the bottom. I have tried to move mine but with no luck. Also, shouldn't they also slide in and out? I'm guessing they were never moved and have pretty much seized themselves in their current position. Then again they might not be made to move.
Ok so now I don't feel so crazy for sitting out there with a can of WD-40 and a screwdriver trying to get some movement. If I want the movers I suppose I'll have to do some shopping on eBay and see what I come up with. Thanks for the help.
I have a '99 also. I pull a 35 ft 5er and couldn't see anything behind me. I purchased a set of 5 way power mirrors off ebay for $80 brand new. They are made by Power Vision and retail for about $500 a pair. They look and work great! They are fully electric and I installed both of them in less than 2 hours. They hook up to your existing power mirror controls and you have to add one more switch (in & out) which comes in the kit. The kit is complete with additional harness and everything you need. Do a search for "power vision" and see if there are any out there.
i just added a stick on spot mirror to the lower left hand corner of the flat mirror on the driver side of my '99 and it solved my problem. the mirrors that westpsd is describing would be great if you need them but if you are just wanting a little more view, i suggest the stick ons.
