I have a 84 150 with a I-6, the fuel pump just went out on it and now the truck has a loud knock, I have narrowed it down to the fuel pump or a rod bearing, the oil was thin when I drained it. If it is the bearing can I swap this block for a 258 I-6 block from a jeep.
UUUUUUhhhhh. No. Apples to Oranges pretty much. A friend of mine just replaced his 300 I6 a little while ago and picked up one running from a junkyard for $125.00 Might want to look around and see what you can find. I would definatly try replacing the fuel pump. It sounds like a diaphram ruptured. If the gas has thinned out your oil too much it can make your engine knock due to poor lubrication. Change out the oil also.
