I have an '03 Expedition. Its seems the outside trim panels on the lower portion of the doors have faded or discolored. For some reason the plastic bumpers have remained the same color, unfaded. All the plastic panels have been cared for in the same manner. Has anyone else experienced this or is the a TSB for this?
Thanks,
Larry

Do a search. I have an 04 and had the trim replaced There is a TSB for it. Do the search on fading cladding and you will find all the info you need. It is my understanding the cladding and the bumpers are made by two different vendors.
The sould be 8 pieces in the kit. Here is the info TSB 04-17-07 covering vehicles built between 2/1/03 and 12/31/04. You would be suprised how many Expies I see here in Northern California that have badly faded cladding they have now clue about replacing them
Tom
Thank you so much. I did the search and found the info. Just one more quesition. How do you tell the prodution date of the vehicle? I want to make sure that our truck fits into the production time frame on the TSB.

You can see the month and year of your truck's production by looking at the factory sticker on the driver's door pillar. It also has color codes and equipment codes for various stock items on the vehicle.
Well guys I went by 2 dealerships and they both say they won't do it because my truck as 40k on it. So I'm in the middle of fighting with them about it. I stressed the fact that it is only 2 years old and that miles has nothing to do with the panels fading but it seems to do no good. This is my 3rd Ford vehicle and possibly my last if they don't make good on this. You would think they would stand behind their product knowing it had a known defect regardless of miles!

Wish me luck,

General question here - have they been doing the maintenance? Typically a dealership may cover the issues like this as long as you are a regular maintenance customer. All they have to do is enter your VIN, and they have access to all maintenance by a FORD dealership. Go off and go to Jiffy Lube, or shadetree it, and you are out of luck. Unless you scream, holler, scream some more, and threaten to buy another Ford in the next 6 months.
