I recently bought a used 2000 F-150 5.4L 4X4 7700 series with a 4R100 tranny. I noticed when the tranny shifts from 2-3 it shifts really hard sometimes, usually when I let off the gas before it shifts from 2-3 it does it or when I get on on it to merge on the highway it will do it. It shifts from 1-2 and 3-OD with no problems, the trans fluid is clean and doesnt smell burnt. I have friend with a 99 F-350SD with the same trans and says his does the same thing, is this normal? Any advice or thoughts on this would be aprecciated.
Had codes pulled when I got the tune up done, the only thing that showed was the engine not reaching optimal temp.?( running cold ) added anti freeze reset the computer and it hasent come back yet. FYI the OD light does not flash either.
