Door Clip Replacement

For those that are interested and have no desire of getting fleeced at the dealership, each of the door panels (in a 1993 Aerostar, anyway....) takes 10 clips to hold it onto the metal door skin. A cheap replacement that actually works can be found at O'Reilly's or Autozone under the "Dorman" brand name. Part number is 799-125.......SKU is 0 19495 05624.........it'll take two packs.....

Cool!!! Thanks for the tip, I need some replacements. Welcome to the forum, we need more tips like this to help us save $$$ over paying Ford for their overpriced parts.

Wow, talk about perfect timing...
I took the door panels off this weekend and the clips that were still there were brittle.
I was going to the dealer today but Autozone is 10 miles closer.

Thanks a bunch...

Talking Clips shmlips

I just sunk some sheetmetal screws in the door, down at the bottom, kinda out of site with washers. Now I can pull the doors off and on all day and never need "no stinking door clips"

Surprise, surprise, a bag of 10 fasteners at the local Ford dealer was only $6.50. I had been buying them off the carousel racks at auto paint dealers and those hideously expensive blister packs of 2 at the local parts stores. Beware, some of those generic look-alike fasteners are made of more brittle plastic and the head shatters/snaps off easily when trying to install them. The Ford OEM fasteners are much more pliable.
