hey guys, i installed the kwik filter about a month ago and really enjoy it, espescially when i show all my buddies, their jaws drop when they see it, haha. anyways i was just wondering what all you guys do when you hose down your engine, what do you do with the filter, wrap a bag around it and tape it shut to prevent the water getting in? take the filter off? let me know your ideas, cause its time to wash my engine .
Hey MYBIGREDFORD, was it easy to get the KWIK Filter form NAPA up here in Canada. How much did they charge in our money? Did you use any extra piping or clamp or did the stock pipe fit over the filter? Thanks Alot, Mopey.
Hey Mopey, I Went To Napa And They Didnt Have One In Stock, So They Ordered It And It Was Here The Next Day By 10 Am. I Didnt Have To Change Any Piping The Filter Has A Sleve That The Stock Boot Fit Right Over. The Only Thing I Had To Do Was Buy A Bigger Hose Clamp Cause The Stock One Isnt Big Enough. I Think The Filter Cost Me About $40-45 Bucks Cnd. And It Took Me About 20 Min To Put On. One Tip For Putting The Filter On Is That I Took The Boot Off Completely And While I Was Trying To Put The Filter On (its A Tight Fit) I Put Half The Filter On And Then Use A Small Flathead Screwdriver And Ran That Around The Lip Of The Boot And The Filter Slipped Right On. Hope That Makes Sense, Lol
i just take the filter and boot compleatly off and cap the turbo inlet w/ a collapsable 4" cap, and tighten down, works well and allows me to clean up under there easily.
Mopey, call before you head to NAPA. If they don't have it in stock it's cheaper by a couple-few bucks to order it online and ship to your house. If you order through the store they will still charge shipping and also tax.
Mine arrived in 5 days and I didn't have to drive out to get it.
