What is everybody doing this weekend as the weather looks good? Any special plans for working/cleaning up your projects? Finding and replacing parts or just laying back? I intend to do both as the mood hits me. Got most of my old Fords plated and cleaned up some so will go for a cruise and then maybe work in the shop...... Have agood weekend and enjoy!
I'm hopeing to get under my truck and size up this rear end i got back in November. I thought this was a bolt in deal but i'm seeing some differences. I need to get this conversion done if i want to go to super run this year.
Plus I'm going for one more sled ride on the lake, maybe me and my daughter before we put them away

What is the rear end out of? I have always been lucky, they always seem to fit, maybe just beginner`s luck ( a long time ago). Be carefull on the ice as it could be dangerous this time of the year, we need you for Super Run!
Cleaning the yard after the wind storm from last 2 days and have to see about fixing a fence that blew over at a relatives place in the city. Was hoping to work on my 78, few misc. things need fixing.

That wind did a number on my barn shingles not to mention most things around the yard .
We had some shingles ripped off as well as lots of trees broken off. We were w/o power for most of Friday as there were a few poles broken off near here. We set up the generators at both yards and it kept us going. The Saskpower crew was out Friday afternoon/evening with their auger and bucket trucks to replace the broken poles. We had a big tractor out there to pull their trucks to where they needed to be and then out again.
Well, it's Sunday evening and happy to report the rear end is from a 71 F100 and by my measurements it will fit under my 59. Pulled the axles out and pumpkin (needed some heat for one axle). Ground off the welds from the shock mounts and ground most the rust off the housing. Ready for clean up and paint. Need new bearings and seals on the axles, new brakes and brake cables. Then mount it under the truck in 10 days !!!
Also there is still plenty of ice on La Ronge....went for a ride this afternoon. Wet but good going.
