I was wondering in my f250 300 4spd 4x4 if a broken motor mount will make my truck sound like it is hitting metal when I am taking off and when I shift into third but not into fourth? If you dont think that could be it what else do you think it is?

If a motor mount is broken usually the fan will make contact with the shroud because a broken motor mount allows the engine to move more than it should . Look on the inside of the shroud for any signs the fan is contacting it . Also check the transmission mount .
