that's another thing! I know these engines arent real fast, but mine at least gets outof it's own way pretty good. It seems a little quicker than people give it credit for. if it was geared one size higher, it actually be kinda quick.
Mine gets bad mileage because I drive it like I stole it. The big injectors don't help either. If I put the stock injectors back in I could probably get nearly 20 mpg.
I have a 77 Long wheel base truck and usually drive it on the freeway about 75mph, if I slowed down to 55 and acclerated like grandma, it would get good mileage, otherwise I get about 15mpg with my foot in the pedal all the time.
i get between 11-16. The truck is a 4x4 Np435 with 3.55 gearing so to keep up with traffic on the way to school i'm doing 2800-3100 RPM. That's not all that bad. The truck likes 55mph but i'd get run over.
My truck gets up and goes pretty good i think. quicker than my mom's Ram with a 318 but not as fast as my dads 00 150. But it'll haul more
Mine gets between 11-13 mpg but I guess that could be because I do have my foot in it. But the new ness of the intake manifold, header and carb haven't gotten old yet, so I like to stomp it just to suprise the other people out on the road. Got alot of dirty looks from guys in bigger pick-ups when my old crusty thing flies past.
Mine sucks (literally) because of the untuned 4bbl on it. That and bigger tires and no overdrive. I don't care because I don't drive it that much. It is just my toy. Of course, I wouldn't get mad if I was getting 22 either
I get around 11 during my daily driving. I made around 13-14 on my trip to Maryland, never going over 2700 rpm (about 65 mph). I though I was getting worse mileage the faster I went, but it seems my sending unit is out of whack. But on a brighter note, the extra tank or too a month is still cheaper than a truck payment
ya'll thing yer sittin bad at 11 and 13 and 15....hehehe....try 6 miles to the gallon on a good day....'course, runnin 70-75 with an overfueling single barrel and bad rings doesn't help things much, either...lol....i run about a gallon to work, and a gallon home, and if i go anywhere outta town, it runs me almost 1/4 tank....lol...
we usually get about 18 highway, and 14 i'm guessing as average. it'll probably get less once i get it. my mom and dad never make it go over about 2400 RPM. it's usually about 3000 RPM for me.
