1965 F100 2wd axle code

Somebody please tell me what the axle ratio is for a code "17" rear axle on a 1965 F100 2wd truck.

VERY hard to find anything specific to the 1965/1966 years. Lotsa info for 70's, 80's, 90's.

Thanks!

Code 17 is a 3.25 ratio, 9 inch Ford rear.

Thanks, Barry!

Where did you get your info? I've been looking for a source for '61-66 trucks, and haven't found on that is completely clear. For example, I'm looking at a '65, and the chart I've found lists a code 17 for a '66, not a '65.

Maybe it's just production cutoff date discrepencies.

BTW, I remember you from a discussion about an F250 uni I was looking at (I think). I didn't buy the truck, but the owner hasn't sold it yet, and I may take another look.

Did we talk about engines?

I wonder to myself how well a well-running 223 will propel a F250 down the highway (especially with a load). Seems like a little engine for that potental GVWR.

I get my info from the 64-72 Ford parts and accessories catalog set I have. It gives all the breakdown of the serial number plate. Excellent source of info, part numbers and illustrations of the trucks. Some of the shop manuals have some of the info also.
We may have talked about engines, I anwser a ton of questions here, I can't remember who and what I talked to about!
The 223 was used up into some of the larger trucks, so an F-250 isn't alot of weight to move. Imagine an F-500 or 600 with one. That's alot of weight!
