Fuel pressure

I have a 1986 F150 302, when I turn the motor off my fuel pressure drops to zero within a few seconds. I pulled all of my spark plugs and none of them are wet with fuel, so I don't have injectors that are leaking. Is there a check valve in the system to maintain pressure or is the fuel pump supposed to keep the pressure.

Fuel pressure

The 90's trucks have a check valve built into the fuel pump. Don't know if the 80's had a separate check valve. What happens if you just key on, not start? Does the fuel pressure come up, and after the 1 second has expired and the pump shuts off, does the pressure fall off? If so, you could try crimping off the return line somewhere where its a rubber hose, and try it again. If it holds pressure then, then it may be the pressure regulator leaking some fuel back to the return, like its not sealing tightly.
