I was wondering if anyone has had to replace the e-brake cable that runs from the pedal back.I am wondeing how big of a problem it is going to be?I just got the cable so please help! The truck is a 99 f250
it's not hard just replaced mine about 3 weeks ago you have to remove the acm right beside the brake pedal to get to it.
to remove the acm there is a 10mm bolt on the outside fire wall that hold a wire harness in place to it also 2 7 or 8mm screws that secures the acm inside under the dash.
After you get the new cqble in place goto the rear of truck where the cable makes a rocking splice and rock the splice the opposite way to give yourself room to reconnect at midway splice directly under the drivers seat at the frame rail
I bet it broke at the ferral didn't it
I bought an early 99 F-350 with a manual transmisson. I did a recall search on the Ford website and found that there was a recall for that model with a manual transmisson involving replacement of the brake cable and pedal. I took mine to the dealer and had it done for no charge. The previous owner had not had it done. You might check to see if yours is subject to the recall.
