Hey guys,
The other day I got a wild hair and went crawlin under the truck to try and find my gear ratio's. Well all I've been able to find so far is a lil'silver metal patch thing on my housing or transfer case. (whichever its in the middle of the truck) Well at the bottom it says "ratio 2.7.2 or 272 " Any Idea's? Thanks!!
If all else fails , you can raise the rear of the truck , spin one of the tires one full turn and count how many times the drive shaft goes around , ( ie ) if the drive shaft turns four times to the tire's one time = 410s or 411s . It's not exact but will get you close to what you have .
Same as what I have... The 4.10's are good for pullin' and around town.... There o.k. on highway, get a little less millage than 3.73. Non-limited slip just means you have an open diff... in other words power is only given to one wheel (do a brake stand and you'll find out ) A limited slip, or posi rear end gives power to both wheels when traveling in a stright like, and when turning one wheel gets more power so you don't roll over while turning.
