Spindles...

im having a real hard time removing the spindles on the 89 D44 TTB that i bought for my 4x4 swap. I got the nuts off the ball joints fairly easily but the spindle is like seized on. I tried heating it, pb blaster etc, and beating it with a bfh but no luck. Is the only other option to get an even bigger hammer? :-) like a 20lb sledge and beat the hell out of it?

There are a couple different ways to approach this, but first I want to make sure we're talking about the same part.

The spindle is the shiny thing that the rotor rides on. It's where the inside of the bearings sit. It's held on to the knuckle, which is what the ball joints are pressed into and what the tie rod ends connect to so the truck can be steered.

If you got the ball joint nuts off, you must have already gotten the spindle off, so I'm going to assume you meant to say knuckle.

The answer is then, get a bigger hammer.

Some advice, though - put the lower nut back on a couple of turns. When it does break loose, your foot will inevitably be underneath it. That sucker is HEAVY.
