Anybody ever tried drilling out the hinge pins and putting in bolts? I've got slop on the bottom hinge pin. Can it be shimmed, or do I have to buy a new set? If so what kind of price are new hinges?

I haven't had that problem yet, so I haven't looked at my hinges closely. But I did have a Chevy Monza , the doors were about 20 feet long and weighed a ton, I think I had to replace the hinge pins and brass bushings twice on that thing. It was very inexpensive for the parts. I did it in the plumbing shop, wrapped a canvas strap around the upper part of the door and held it up with a come-a-long to take the weight off while replacing the hinge bushings and pins.

You can go to a lot of parts stores and look in the HELP! section, they sell replacement door pins/bushings. I did the replacement on the driver's side and the new pins/bushings helped a lot.
