speedometer issue

speedometer issue
i have a 1978 f-150, i had to remove the insturment cluster to repair some wires. when i put it back together, my speedometer is off by about 30 mph. how do i set it at zero and then keep it at zero until i put the speedometer cable back in.

I'v had a lot of these gauge clusters out and never had that to happen. Did you drop it on the floor or take the speedometer apart ? When you say it's off by 30 miles ,do you mean the needle is stuck at 30 and won't drop on down to O ? If that's it you may have to remove the needle and reset it on O .

Mine dosen't work at all. I just use a free speedometer app on my phone that works off the gps. then you don't have to worry about switchng speedo gears with differant tire sizes. just my 2 cents
