Undercover/Versacover security

I leaning towards this cover for my new F250 crew(which I should get in 2-3 weeks) and was wondering how secure it is. It looks like the front of cover is secured by two split rings. What prevents someone from removing these and lifting the cover up and off. I thought about drilling the hole a little bigger and replacing the split rings with small padlocks?!
I understand that if someone is determined to get past a tonneau cover and into the box, it is possible but just would like to have them work at it a little harder.

Any comments from current owners would be appreciated.

That cover is awesome! I have one on my Ranger and LOVE it! The cover is as secure as any other hard tonneau. The tabs that the rings go through are angled up, the cover has to be unlocked, and open about a foot, for you to slide it off. It can't be opened from the front (rings or no rings).

Thanks for the reply PW01, I'm glad to here that. I really like it and think I will get one for my new truck. I've looked at many covers and keep coming back to the Undercover/Versacover. I like the idea that I can put it on for family trips and a snow cover in the winter and be able to remove easily when needed. Folding covers are ok but I would think they would leak more. I put a Pace Edwards on my dad's truck a few years ago and have had trouble with it plus I don't like that permanent box mounted in front of box. I have an 8 ft. box now going down to a 6.5' with my new truck, hate to lose any more box space.

Thanks again.

You'll love it! I'm not sure how the finish is achieved, but mine has not faded at all in three years of use - I don't even have garage that I can fit my truck into. It is much stronger than fiberglass - I stand on it every time I wash, or wax the truck (I weigh 195). It is very weather tight - the only leak is at the sides of the tail gate (usually only at a touch-less car wash). Mine even came with a set of hooks, so I can hang it on the garage wall when not in use. I can't recommend it enough, and will definitely buy one for my next truck!
