Exclamation FE Getting Air

I have a 1969 F-100 with a 390. I am going to put a hood scoop on it ( A REAL HOOD SCOOP NOT SOME GLUE ON AUTO ZONE THING) I already have the scoop that came off a 68 f-100. I thought that it looked good on it, but it was not functional. I was wondering about putting this on my truck. I plan on doing everything to it mounting it cutting a hole the entire deal.

Here is my question. Would this cause any problems with the motor?

Only when it rains. I've done this to all my Mustangs and space the carb up a bit so the aircleaner pokes through the hood. The more expensive way would be to try to adapt a ram air shaker style but not sure if it would work on a truck. Anyway only in heavy rain did I have a problem. I made a cover to snap over the scoop mouth in bad weather and could also remove the spacer to lower the aircleaner if needed. I used something like naugahide for the cover material. I used small snaps like on a boat cover to attach them. I think velcro would be the way to go to attach the cover as car "bras" are mostly held on with this. That and no snaps on the hood scoop for a cleaner look. Measure twice...cut once. G.
