Getting the same mileage ... 15.5 highway. Just got the Aero exhaust put on yesterday, I'll have to take it out on the highway and see if their claim of 3+ mpg is true or not...

Boys:

I noticed that when I 'baby' or let the engine lug from 0-60 mph and try to sqeeze mileage out I get worse mileage. I start driving it like the reason I bought it for and loe and behold my mileage has increased. No Mod's, just fill her up and go. I don't race it light to light, but I will let a CHEBBY know what's coming or going passed him...HAHAHA

I have an '04,cc,4x4, auto,3:73, 15,000 mi. Started out in the mid 16's rapidly went down hill. It now gets 12.2 to 12.8 anyway I drive it. Truck has been great in all other ways.
Just installed the Superchip in the performance mode. Going on a short trip this weekend will see what this does. Will switch over to the tow/haul program for the return trip home and compare milage.

I have to think that the manual transmission does help. Because I do drive a stick differently than an auto. And, there's less power loss through direct gear lockup.

Try disconnecting your EGR, I got a couple of MPG from that.

Hey Duke where is the EGR plug located on the 05? I have tried to do some research but can't find it. Don't want to just start pulling plugs.

Check out the tech folder or look at the link below. I think you will like the results of unplugging the EGR, just remember to plug it back in before you go to the dealer.

Those seem to be for 03/04. I'll see if it looks similar on the 05. Looks like a plat plug with 5 or so wires on it from the pick. Even though I have read it's an oval white connector.

I pulled my 03 cobra 1200 miles from wisconsin and got 13.8, 13.4 and 13.1 on the fill ups. I sure the hell wasn't babying it but I kept it under 80. Pulling weight and the load of wood in the bed totalled around 7000lbs.

Ditch the Volant and ride it out. How many miles do you have? It is going to get better with more miles. Just treat her nice and in the end you will be happy.
