For those of you who key your mic often, what is your CB handle? I just got started today with my first CB and I'm trying to think of a good one for myself. As far as equipment I'm just running a Cobra 19LTD II with a standard magnetic mount NAPA antenna. When I get my new truck I'll transfer it and put in a much larger whip style antenna on a hinge so I can tuck it along side the bed rail when not in use.
Back in the day and in the future again when I get the F350 handle was Sleeper. Choose it because at the time I was driving about 50k a year and most of it at night.
When I was a kid and CBs were all the rage, I talked my dad into letting me get one to put in his '69 Mercury Marauder. What was my handle? Marauder. In later years I put one in the Tiger for trips with my sports car club, they just started calling me Tiger, and thus the legend was born...!
I went on the name Northern Flight and Battle Cat..ever since i went through a automatic car wash and had my antenna wrecked from the brush i put the CB away and when i was going to put back into my truck my wife said to me no way no how because no one uses CB S no more and cell phones are in...NOT CB'S...boss has spoken and could someone from FTE say to my wife there is life in the CB world today....HEEEELP!!!!!!!
the 79 F250 has a galaxy DX 959 in it,the 88 super duty 4X4 has a galaxy DX 66, the 66 7litre and 65 falcon have cobra DX148 NW ST's in them, and the mack has a galaxy DX 88 that comes out at night and goes in the 99 P71 crown vic. the handle is the rebel, from back in 74, i had a rebel flag in the back window of my 66 dodge power wagon. people started calling me the rebel, even though i was using "pacer" for the pace 2300 radio i had at the time. rebel stuck, and stayed with me since.
PS ..she wants me to have a cell phone to carry instead of a CB and she is laughing at me and said you are like a little boy without your old toy. .bring in the new boo hoo..so if i can have someone say here to show her they still exist that way i can smile at her and hook up..10-4 im gone
"Animal" for the most part, got that back in highschool and it kinda stuck. I use fake ones every now and then for pure entertainment(thats what being a jerk and big radio and being bored gets you) I have been stuck on "Hobo Magic" for a little while now. For those that don't run with me that much, call me "little turbo" they know of, or know my dad "Turbo"
here in southern West Virginia...cb radio is alive and well...local channel is 20..my handle is Bigun...unit #68....i have a Galaxy DX-2527 base in the house...alot of extra stuff for base (d-104 mics, modulator, linear amplifier, meters) and i have a couple different Cobra mobiles and a couple Uniden 510XL's...i'm tellin u..those little radio's are cheap and look cheap (the 510's)...but they're tough as all get out,and they talk great...
