Smile Procedure for removing upfitter switch

I would like to wire extra driving lights (PIAA) through relay that came with set. Also separate back up lights, no relay. I know that my factory upfitter switches are as follows: #1-30amp; #2-30amp; #3-10amp and #4-10amp. I am going to use #3&#4 for this project. I have the whole truck done except the wiring at the switches. How do I remove the upfitter switch from the dashboard? My 2005 F-250 and I thank you in advance. Just got back from a trip to the store, I now have a BSEG. John.

you don't have to remove them to get at the wires . look by the fuse box and you will find the marked ends.

I didn't get much progress on the wiring. I looked to the right and below the fuse box but I didn't see any wires marked. Are they marked with a tag that states upfitter? Am I looking for the wiring end, or inline wires? Thanks in advance for the info. I'll look again Sunday morning. John.

John

Take a look that the link i sent and page down to the last two pictures.

once you have the main fuse box unbolted and pulled out and down they are usually taped to a larger bundel with white plastic that has very tiny writing. Actually there will be two sets of wires in side the white plastic "tape" one set is for all the user access portions of Stationary Elevated Idle Control (SEIC)

The four you are looking for are sub bundled together and each of the orange with green or yellow striped wires had about 1/2 to 3/4 inch black shrink wrap on the very end because if a switch is up in "run" they are HOT.

The Ford service bulliten describes the relay panel as being mounted on the passenger side. Do you know whwre? Behind the glove box, ubder the glove box? I have the |Ford kit to install upfitter switches, but cant find where to mount the relay box. Pic would be great. Thanks, John

The relay box goes up inside the area directly above the main passenger glove box.

Press in the glove box stops so the door swings all the way down. Stright up and slightly left of center are the attaching points for the Uppfitter relay control box..

Really helps to go look at one that is already installed. Many folks here found what I was talking about but still had trouble figuring out the orientation of the box in thier hand. Once they saw how one was mounted that reported that it was an easy 15 min job to install the whole shebang!

Question

I would have ordered the upfitter switches when I ordered my truck had I known what they were for. I am going to order them and install them myself. I looked in the tech folder and it looks like something I could handle. I would like to know if these two part numbers are all that I am going to need to install them and will it fit the cubby hole for a finished look (trim). From what I see this is just a plug in install. I see a mention of relays would the parts counter guy know what I am talking about or do you have the numbers?

Upfitter switch assy. PN 5C3Z13D730AAA, price is $39.45
Wiring Harness Assy. For Upfitter switches P.N. 5C3Z14A303AA for $18.75.
Thank's

Your 2005 has the vacant spot on the back of the main fues block to provide the power.

Adding in those two parts listed is the final step.

The factory plug n play method is for the switches to only be hot when the key is used.

Some folks want the switches hot all the time.

I don't know where or how they are installing so they are HOT all the time but it has been done.
