universal joints on front axle
I have a 86 f150 4x4 5.0 truck. How hard is it to change u joints on front axle,the u joint at the front rear. should i change the one on the transfer case to? about how much will it cost to have somebody install it for me? The cost was 8.00 to buy one. one more question, how can i check the sending unit to see if this is bad. fuel guage does not work. I am very new at this so thanks for the help.

universal joints on front axle
the u-joints aren't hard to change, just time consuming. you have to remove hubs and all to get to them. get a manual for your truck and give it a shot.
as for gauge, check all wiring first, but most likely a bad sending unit. fords are known for this problem.
