Has anyone out there tried and suceeded in doing any type of headlight conversions on the 2004 new body style F-150? What I mean by this question; is as far as changing what type of bulbs go into the assembly. The factory bulbs are 9008's. Which are an extreme rarety in trying to find these, except at the dealer, "OF COURSE". I would love to put something BRIGHTER in. Or even something different, so that maybe I can do an HID light install. Any help would definetley be appreciated.
sylvania makes an extravision bulb. and then get their silverstars for the fogs, i noticed the fogs were way brighter anyways. you could also probably retrofit the mark lt's hids if they are available. i know a few years ago the markVIIIs hid setups were cheap and a lot of the bmw guys were using that to retrofit their cars.
Hey subliminaldanger,
I am assuming that the "LT" in Mark LT is for light truck. But, correct me if I am wrong, the company that did the MARK conversion vehicles is out of business now. Has been for a couple of years to my knowledge. If you have any info. that could be of some help to me on this matter ( like maybe the where abouts of a warehouse that I can get some good stuff from), PLEASE pass it along. I am deeply interested in doing a headlight conversion on my F-150 and I don't want some kind of junk up there for headlights.
i just installed a set of projection headlights for my 2004 F150 Screw and they look great. They came with all the wiring and bulbs and took minutes to install. they look great! purchased them off ebay for 269.95 but i think definetly worth the money. Also, came with hyperwhite bulbs in the dims and clear corner lenses. Check them out....
Hey jaytee04
Thanks, I also looked at the projection lights on ebay as an alternative to the HID's. I was not to sure about the projection lights because of the possibilty of degrading the performance of the lighting, especially at night, which is when I do the majority of my driving. I am pretty much set on trying to get the HID's in my truck. I will "post" as soon as I can find some that will work, even if it means doing some modifications in order to do the install.
not sure what year audi but it was the a4 model possibley an 01, 02. i did not actually buy these but i ended up with them some how . i think they go for about $120 each bulb and about $350 for each ballast from audi. you dont have to actually use this system just try and find some with the ballast that just has 2 wires, one is power and the other one is ground. i would shop the parts dept. of all the dealers that have cars with hids and find the cheapest. try the new body lincoln navi they might have the same size in bulbs as the 04 ford. i also know the 03, 04 G35 coupe bulbs and ballast will work cause i work for Infiniti. i did lose my highbeam because of this. lemme know if you need more info. Leroy
The angel eyes projectors run off I think h4's. I was thinking of getting these and running a HID setup from performanceparts. Just like the BMW with this setup. Would work too, but would hate to get pulled over.
Hey "Big Brd".............Thanks for all of the info..........I have also been looking at the navigator as well. What did you mean by the comment that you lost your high-beam ? What happened ?
Your headlight uses a single bulb for both high and low beam. When you replace it w/ the HID bulb it is only going to be low beam (unless you rigged up one of the new systems from BMW/Porsche that have a motor, it changes the lights angle-way more trouble than it sounds). If you got the projector headlight assembly off of ebay you could make it work though. It makes you use seperate bulbs anyway, and there are plenty of kits for H1/H3 type housings.
