Ford Econoline E150 towing

I tow a 28 ft travel trailer with a '92 Ford econoline E150, 5.0L V-8, with towing package. The van pulls the trailer fine, but I have had the van shutdown 3 times in the past 2 years when the air temperature reading is 95 degrees plus. The temperature gage still reads in the normal range, a little above where it normally reads without pulling th trailer, and well below the red zone. Has anyone heard of similar problems, any solutions. Possible vapor lock? I have taken the van to Ford for diagnostics when the problem was happening, but after cooling down, they can find no problem. I read where motorhomes on the Ford chassis had vapor lock problems, and needed an upgrade to a turbine type pump. I showed this article to the Ford service shop and they said there is no upgrade for the fuel pump on the Econoline van. Any info on this?
