I was going to buy the 46 pc puller kit from harbor freight to pull the harmonic dampner on my 79 f 150 and the steering wheel later. Well i looked at the instructions they have for it @ harbor freight and it does not say whether it can be used to reinstall it. It says how to pull but not how to install. Do i need another special tool to install it and if so where can i find one for cheap? The harbor freight kit is only 10. Part # is 37714-5VGA and is made by pittsburgh i think. Thanks

Putting the dampner on is using the center bolt to pull it on, so the bolt you removed should work.
the HF kit worked on my 302 and 460 without problem
You may have to get a longer bolt to get it started. They do make install tool that you can get at the local parts house. I use a long bolt and hammer to do the job your choice
I bought that same kit last Saturday and pulled mine with no problem. Installed it back on by just pushing it by hand and tapped it a couple of times with a rubber mallet. It was on far enough for the retaining bolt to reach and just pulled it the rest of the way with the bolt and torqued it to spec. I also have a 302 in a 1995 F150. Good luck.
