I was wonder,if any of yall walk/run often. If so how long?
Today I made a goal to walk 6mi every day.
I already walked 6mi today, could of went longer but I didnt have good shoes.
I'm hoping to be able to walk/run 1 mile in 7 minutes by end of summer.
I know my cousin runs bout 3 mi every day and does it about the time or less.
Having been a runner for 13 years, I can tell you the walking is much easier on your body, in the long run, so to speak. The pounding finally hammered my ankle to the point I had to stop. Believe me, the running is addictive to some people. Walking 6 miles at a good clip will do you almost the same good. When you get to a point you can keep up the pace, try carrying 2 or 2.5 pounds in each hand. Any exercise you get will be beneficial. Keep up the workout!
6 miles!?! Even if I could last that long, I don't think I'd have the time. If you can, that's awesome.
I do walk at lunch now that our Wisconsin weather has improved a bit. I walk with a girl from the office who walks really fast and she keeps me motivated (especially if she's walking in front of me) I think we only get in about 2 miles or so.
I'd like to start walking around town at night, too.
i've just started working out again, yesterday me and my friend ran 1.5 miles, that was rough on me, being the first time i've run a good distance in about a year or so, whenever i quit lifting bc this college doesn't hav e afootball team, going to start doing this every night, i love it.
I can waddle from the couch to the refrigerator...and back again! That's a good day's exercise for me! Actually, I don't have time for any exercise regimen, but I'm fairly active in my work and walk quite a bit around the job site, then come home and split firewood. THAT gets the blood pumping! -TD
I figured I needed to get back into the gym for the summer. My work involves lots of working and running outside, so I lose weight in the summer - fat. I'm about 225 right now, and will be about 195-200 in like a month and a half from work, so if I get built back up like I was in High school (amazing what a year can do, or lose) it'll be pretty nice.
I started running and working out again 3 weeks ago after being lazy and gaining weight for a year. The 1st week or so was a little painful, but I am up to 2 miles now and have lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks, with about 30 more to go hopefully

I hear ya, i took a year off from lifting after i realized my college didn't have football, nothing to really work for, then i realized how out of shape i was, how lazy i was, and how much weight i had gained. My roomie and i started going yesterday, went today, and i'm really feeling the effects of it, i can't touch my nose, lol. I weighed 240 when i left HS, not a lot of fat, just a little belly, but there was a good amount of muscle there, now i'm growing bigger and am about 250-255, when i went to get into some of my shorts, i realized they were getting tight and was like, ok, time to lose some of this weight, but the thing is, last time i ddin't lift for a while, i got it all back pretty quick, i hope i can do the same with this, I mean, I haven't been extremely bad off, I still have been walking about 1.5 miles a day, on and off of campus. But this feels so good to go run and lift again, I don't know why i stopped.
I'm perrty upset with myself today. I didn't make it 4 miles.I almost passed out at about 3 miles. So I had my brother come pick me up.I guess thats what I get for not takin water.
