I have a 90 with rebuilt 302 and I was wondering what is the output of my alternator, or where can I find that info? I have been offered a alternator off a 95 5.8 for free and if there is a good power difference I am going to take it.
It's probably around 70. I installed a 160 in mine and the lights never dim or the needle drop even with the A/C or heat on high, wipers going, lights on, 650 watts of bass pumping, etc. It's worth the extra money. I paid under $200 for it.
Question I looked at putting a 100 amp alt in my 88 6 cly. but the thing was mamoth in size how did you fit a160 amp alt in your rig?
Swap in a G3 for the G2 that came with our trucks...better design and better output. The alternator from a 94-95 mustang GT 5.0 will fit...puts out 130 stock. Easy swap...did mine in about an hour.

stock you will have a 65 on a 302. the 95 5.8 alt would be a 95 but wont fit on your 302 motor. it uses a 3 bolt system and is way different. i to agree that a 3g swap would be in your best interest and is a way better setup. do a search on here its been done by me and others. or go here fordfuelinjection.com he makes the harness's for the swap making it way easy.
All you have too do is get a drive in housing from a 3G the same size and swap it on.
They came either 95A or 130A
Look at the casting stamps on the housing, 95A came standard but 130A was offered.
By 93 the Broncos and F-series had the newer design alternators in them and the serpentine pulley system changed slightly to accomodate the change. Kinda fun the things you can figure out just by having owned two different model year trucks.
