Hi, I'm a new owner of a 99 expedition XLT 4.6 2WD, I want new tires on it and I'm not sure of what to get. I'm thinking of getting the Michelin XC LT4. I really like michelin tires, I had an Isuzu Rodeo with michelin tires before getting the expedition and they worked GREAT ! ! but I don't know how they handle on a bigger truck like the Expedition. Opinions are more than welcome !
Welcome to the Forum, Erika. Great User name, by the way!
Like you, I've had various Michelin tires on SUV's (Full Size Blazer (88), Land Rover Range Rover Classic (94), and now 2002 Expedition). Various versions, and liked them all. Just make sure that your tread is specific to what you want. If you think you like an agressive off road tire, make sure you will be fine with road noise that is directly proportional to the off road aggressiveness.
i just put on a set of yokohamas HT-S (3000) miles ago. Thry ride great are quiet handle great and are awsome in the snow. In 6 inches of snow it goes like on dry pavement. Stops great too. They are the top rated tire at the tire rack. check it out I bought then local around $130 mounted balanced road haz.
I just put a set of Cooper Discoverer H/T's on my 99. I have been very pleased with them so far. They are really quiet compared to my A/T's that I had. Seem to ride very smooth and handle well in the rain and snow. Only paid $135/tire at a local tire shop for 17's.
I've had Michelin LTX M/S and Michelin Cross Terrains on my 1999. Greatly prefer the LTX. Cheaper and MUCH longer-lasting than the Cross Terrains. Cross Terrains had a slightly softer ride.
Thanks ! I like the user name a lot ! me and my truck ride trough a lot of places, road, freeway, city streets, sand (I live in a part of mexico with a dessert), sometimes in sinuous roads, so I better put some very GOOD tires !!! I'll go for the michelin LTX MS

So did I! Aren't these tires awesome??! My '03 EB handles like a sports car now I have put about 1500 miles on these tires and I cannot believe I waited 35K miles to change the tires. The Yokohamas are worth every penny. The truck rides better now than it did when new. The nibble is now gone!!
