Hey guys. I hope it is ok to post this question here. My mom has a 2000 windstar, not sure on the engine size. Her check engine light keeps coming on and the codes we get are P0171 and P0174. These mean the system is too lean on bank 1 and 2. We have replaced the O2 seonsors and cleaned the mass air flow seonsor. What else could be causing this? Thanks for the help.
There is a Techical Service Bulletin on the problem. It is 03-16-1.
Basically you check the vacuum hose from the intake manifold to the fuel pressure regulator to make sure it is attached to the intake and not fallen off.
It's easy to check the vacuum hose. It's on the front of the engine and easy to see.
Next you are to replace the upper intake manifold gaskets and reprogram the PCM.
