Big trucks

Joblot is another place that carries parts for the larger trucks.

Also you might be able to find what you're looking for at NAPA. You might also find parts at a local establishment that deals in modern large trucks.

Yeah,
I'm restoring a 55 F-600. Some things that are hard to find...... 5 lug "BUD" style wheels...
Does your F-800 have air brakes or hydo?
Which engine/trans do you have in it?
Napa has a lot of parts but you end up going to big truck places for big truck parts...
Let's keep this thread going!
Cheers,
Rick

Yes, They had my master cyl kit on the shelf!
Napa was also able to get the wheel cyls and/or kits & bearings.
They have catalogs that go back into the 40's.
Napa can also order from Rare Parts. http://www.rareparts.com/
Rare parts can either get or make just about all the suspension parts. They don't sell retail though.
I had to order an oversize kingpin kit for my F-600 from them. (the front end shop actually ordered the oversize kit from Rare Parts... The alternative was to sleeve the axle at about $225 per side!)
I had to buy the hydro-booster from a Truck brake parts co in Tacoma recently. I was unable to find one otherwise. There are some places on the net that sell new/rebuilt hydro booster but they're not cheap. Cascade Friction and Brake in Tacoma, WA sold me the booster for about $125 exchange.

I'm very lucky mine are the 6 lug 22.5" tubless. They are a one piece wheel. no ring or split first, year tubless.
My former other f-600 had 20" wheels and they were split rim and I changed them to split ring tube type.
I think the F-500's has 5 lug and they too would be tubeless as ALL 56 trucks were sold new with tubeless tires. (at least thats what my brochures say!)

I have 6 lock-ring 20" wheels now.....I had to buy them at about $225 per!
The tires, tubes, flaps and wheels were about $2800 total! I wish I could have found 6 lug tubeless 22.5's but I would have had to find new 6 lug hubs, front and back too! Expensive either way I suppose.
I'm just now putting it all back toether. Big trucks are not cheap by no means....it is a lot of fun though....you only live once right?

Thanks,
I already bought the new (recap) Michelin 900-20 radial tractions for the back and 2 new 900-20 Toyo radials for the front from Les Schwab Tires locally... http://www.lesschwab.com/
They have a source of "rebuilt" wheels for about $200, then they send them to their main office in Prineville, OR and sand blast/powder coat a color of your choice for an additional $22.50 each. A real bargain I suppose considering what most sand blasters charge to just sand blast ( I was quoted about $40 ea)
Widowmakers are only recyclable of course...

I can't wait to get rid of my widowmakers. I have a '52 F6 and found some 22.5s today but they are only 5.25 wide. Does anyone know of a tire that will fit that rim? I may need to have them widened. If I do what is the optimum size width for modern 22.5 radial truck tires? And does anyone know what the correct white paint is for these?
Sorry for the multiple posts but I see there are a number of threads on the wheel issue.
