If its Backfiring.....your timing is either off or you have something failing in your ignition system....And with all Good holleys..all it takes is one good Snort thru the carb and the PV is History!!!
I suggest you find the source of the backfire and correct that issue first..and replave you PV...
The Ford 2V is just a knock off of the 2300 - 2V Holley and the power valves are blown as easily as the Holleys do. One little pop and without a valve protector in the carb, you better assume the valve is history. At least with the Ford carb you can change the power valve without tearing the float bowl off the carb.
