tranny temps

hey guys got my gauges in on tuesday today noticed my tranny temp was hitting 200 had the overdrive off and i was stopped for awhile and wasn't pulling anything and no load whats a safe temp i heard 210 and your cooking is that right

Thats plenty hot for tranny fluid.

I start to get real nervous at the 200F mark.

Towing my boat back this weekend, the hotest my tranny got was 156F according to my tuner.

Sounds like you need to have your tranny flushed. I'd try this first, if that doesn't solve the problem, then you have other serious problems.

Are you sure the gauges are installed right and calibrated? The hotest my SD gets unloaded is 140F.

That seems too hot for not towing. Why did you have the OD off? You may have a bad bypass valve that is not opening up and allowing fluid to go to the cooler. I am not sure how to check it though.
