Ceramic Coated Pistons ?

Has anyone tried this on their pistons ? It is suppose to help deflect the heat from the cylinder walls and maybe help with "ping " ? And even recomended for 2 stroke engines ,,,,, Thanks .

sounds like an opportunity for more trouble to me.

It's OK for some ceramic to flake off my headers. But in the cylinder?

I guess if they can make it work in a 2stroke application, it should work in a 4 stroker.

KB Hyperutectic pistons are designed with this in mind. They have a circular recessed dome in the center that helps force air inware and out. "supposed" to help with pinging and cylinder efficiency when zero decked. They also moved the top ring up, which requires special gapping since it runs hotter, and the there are tiny grooves that run around the piston between the top ring and top of piston. This cools the piston top more effectively, reduces detonation, smog, and increases Hp.

I running them in my 390, so well see over time what happens.
