I wouldn't do it, but if you are determined to go in there, at least make sure to check the oil pickup screen is not clogging. My pickup screen was half clogged at 70,000 miles (mostly previous owner).

Man, that's not a job that I would want to do just for the fun of it. But, if you must, get the one piece gasket with the steel inserts on the bolt holes. I just used enough RTV to hold the gasket in place on the engine block while I pushed the pan in place and bolted it down. Make sure you let the RTV dry a little and get good and tacky. Most gaskets come in 4 pieces but JEGs and Summit both sell the one piece.

Fel pro makes a real fine rubber 1 piece gasket with the steel inserts so you just tighten till it stops and thats it, it also comes with some neat little studs that will support your oil pan so you can put the bolts in without 4 arms, but like they said if it isnt laeking i wouldnt mess with it
