The J.C Whitney part number is WC 20006SR .I called their product specialists twice and they assured me they would fit prior to 2-1-77date of manufacture.

They should arrive today I won't be able to install them for a few days but I will look them over to see if they are close.

Well they arrived. In the box is an info sheet that says they fit 'Low Boy' F250/350's manufactured after 2-1-77.

I contacted both J.C. Whitney and Flow Tech (the manufacturer) to see what was up. They both expressed confusion about the low boy /high boy thing. but both also said their data base said they will fit prior to 2-1-77 date of manu.

Just looking at the things they might fit. So.....I guess I might give it a try.

The tranny has been removed for a new rebearing kit so that might make it easier and I m not needing the truck soon so what the heck....... I do wish it was some body else doing the testing though

If anybody has already gone through this with flow tech headers please drop me a line before I waste my time.

The flow tech prod number is 12520.

....................As I recall , mine were about 500 which included freight to Texas . They are about 2 years old and still look great . The instructions tell the purchaser to "finish" up all your engine tunning ....BEFORE...installing the Headers as Exhaust Temp's during this phase of engine breakin and tuneup will yield higher than normal exhaust temp's and is NOT good for the Longivity of the headers . So , I just ran my engine for several weeks until I was satisified with it's performance with the OLD exhaust manifolds on the engine then installed the headers . Some say this is too much trouble but given the cost and quality of the headers it seemed worth the effort to me . sk

FWIW, I had stainless tri-y headers put on my 1978 4wd a few years back... coupled with flowmaster 30 mufflers, and dual 3 inch exhaust. It sounds righteous! My truck is a Supercab, 6 inch lift, with a 428 under the hood. Headers came from : http://www.stans-headers.com/ford_headers.htm And are the 244Y (which are for a 390 block) They fit wonderfully, though it's kind of a bitch to change out the starter. (The trick is to loosen the motor mounts and raise the sucker about an inch)

Personally, I'd be leery of headers that only cost $119. My tri-ys were $365, and are more now.

No doubt. I installed my L&L's and then broke the new cam in. Sure looked cool though.

Stan's headers are a very nice setup and he's very helpful too. If you're concerned about clearance under the truck with items such as the starter, etc look into the L&L fenderwell exit headers. I had to do a little cab mount trimming and move my brake lines but other than that everything is good to go and the mufflers are outside the frame so they don't interfere with anything.

i just talked to my mechanic, and after jaw dropping price, he told me he can get both black steele headers from hooker, for about 500 beans, and ceramic coated ones for between 750 and 1000 beans!!! i think the hooker part numbers are 6831hkr for the black steele and 6831hkr-c for ceramic coated. this is good news and bad news for 351m/400 highboy owners!!

I have a '77 Hiboy F-250 4x4 with a 400. It has Hedman fenderwell exit headers on it. Here are the P/N for them. Painted ones are 89360 $190.39. Ceramic coated ones are 89366 $414.39. The Elite series ones are 89368 $317.39. I would buy the Elite ones because they are the Heavy Duty ones with thick flanges and tubes . I got the prices from Summit Racing and they have them in stock too. Hope this helps you. Later, Brian
