'04 Limited - Chrome wheels

One of my wheel rims seems to be bubbling and cracking in a certain spot. These wheels on this truck look really good, but this one rim is really bothering me because I am sure it will rust eventually. It is right on the edge close to where it meets the tire. Does anyone think they would replace the rim under the warranty.

Not if salt is added to the roads there in NY, and that's what caused it. Never hurts to try, though............

I have the same problem with two of my wheels (both on passenger side). I may just go with some aftermarkets for the summertime and keep the OEM chrome peelers for the winter.

I remember (I think) other posts where someone had replaced wheels with peeling problems under warranty. It would be unreasonable of them to sell wheels that were unable to withstand road salt given the high liklihood of encountering it.

Well, I had some free time this afternoon to stop by the stealership. I talked to the guy about the wheels...I have an appointment to drop off the truck on Friday morning. He didn't say what they were going to do about it yet. I'll keep you updated.

I finally had some time to take my truck in and get it inspected. The dealer did replace the 2 wheels that were peeling with brand new chrome wheels.

Anyone who is having this problem, I would take it in and see what the dealer says. My service guy didn't really even question it, they replaced it right away.
