Thought I'd share this one. I missed it until now.
While looking around at various replacement wheels for the Ex. I was perusing the original paper version of the 2005 Excursion brochure.
I looked down at the specifications page at wheels. and I found a good one.
They show the standard three 16" alloy wheels AND a 18" alloy wheel as optional. The caption states:
18" Forged-Aluminum Wheel with Center Cap Optional on Eddie Bauer and Limited (4x4 only) (late availability)
Funny thing is that I have seen that in the 05 brochure as well. I think these are the King Ranch wheels from 2004. Very much like the Harley Davidson wheels, but without the emblem. Should be a direct bolt-on conversion, and convert your wheels form 16x7 to 18x8. The trick is to find a set of four good ones.

Reason: Oops. Meant to say 05 brochure, not 04 brochure...
When I ordered my 05, I wanted those wheels. According to the dealer...they were never made..they were expected...but with the 05 spring change not happening on the Ex...the parts counter figured those wheels should not have been in the brochure. They were 05 SD wheels.

Close...
They were indeed optional for the Excursion, but with late availability...
They were originally optional rims on the 04 Lariat and King Ranch Superduties, they were standard on the Harley Davidson for the '04 MY. They were never 2005 rims for the Superduty. For the '05 MY, a 20 inch version was made.
