Wow, what a project! That'll make a good pickup... I don't envy the work you have ahead of you, but it'll be worth it.

You're going to have a very sweet ride when you finish that thing.

(Those 70's bodies look so COOL when they're decked-out with big tires, too! Excellant choice, my man!)

I suggest some sort of ram air intake setup. A hood scoop, perhaps shaker hood would really set off that 429 you're thinking of, and the hoods of these trucks look awesome with the single center scoop. If it were me I would keep the scoop to two inches or less. Too muck rise and it will look stupid.

Good idea but that truck has a body lift on it. A shaker scoop won't reach the hood. Now if you added a tunnel ram and put a shaker on top of THAT! Wow! Or a super charger, a nice chromed out 8-71 would fit fine under that hood.

Also a tilt front end is always cool and will help with maintenance on a truck lifted that high. You'd need a step ladder to be able to change the plugs on that monster.

Looks like a nice start. Keep us appraised.

The 429 wont fit in the truck without the body lift, as it is the motor is sitting on the motor mounts with out the rubber. if i could i would nix the body lift, on the upside it gives me a ton of tire clearance

yea ive been toying with the idea of a blower. 1+ vote.
as for the tilt im planning on cleaning up that front bumper and useing it. it sticks out about 10 inches from the grill, so im not sure as how to go about doing a tilt on that. kinda tosing about the idea of a fiberglass front clip and haveing 2 persons to remove it

oh if only we were closer, i would buy that bumper off you (so you wouldnt have to hack it up to make the tilting front clip work)....or trade it for the original chrome bumper, an extra hood, and a pair of good doors that i have stored away

as for ideas, what will be the main function for this truck? how much effort/money will you put into rebuilding this truck?
