I've got a '96 F350 I've been using a superchips tuner for a year and a half for the last few month's I've been trying to isolate a rough Idle knocking when warmed up problem, I'm aware of the #8 "cackle" problem so don't bother to respond with regards to that,
Here's what I've noticed lately, I've been using DK and my mileage has gotten better, so I decided to try returning to stock the engine idled
much better, not perfect but better, on perf tow setting the best
mileage I could get was about 16 but on tow safe that jumped to
almost 19, hi perf dropped to about 15, I haven;t run a mileage test
on stock but i will (these are highway miles mostly, truck empty with
me driving, wife is a leadfoot) I've also noticed that after I retune
the P0603 Kam errror code comes up and has to be cleared, no
codes after that, I'm kinda convinced that my injectors are running
as well as could be (180K on them) with this good of mileage, I don't remember this code popping up when I first got this unit. CPS is new.
