recall

has anyone heard anything about a wirering recall on 99-00 super-duties? my buddy told me earlier that he caught something about it on the news. he said some wirering was catching fire or something. anyone know??? anyone heard???

i 've had my '99 f350 since new and i have not heard of any recall for the wiring

I think so far it is just F-150's, but it wouldn't surprise me to see the SD's added later.

It's for the cruise control on the F-150's. Some trucks have randomly caught fire. I still haven't heard of a real solution from Ford about it. As I remember, you took your truck in for the recall and they disabled the cruise control.

That's just until they have parts to fix it. Then the dealer will install the new part and enable the cruise control.

It will probably be a wiring change to move the hot wire to a place that is hot only with the ignition on or engine running. Right now they are hot all the time and that is the rub.
