My Questions are 1} Where is the is the fuel pump reseat switch?{No I don't have the owner manual,Bought the X used}. 2}How hard is it to put the fuel pump in the tank?
Thanks for any Help
Jeff
Inertia switch is on the passanger (right) side just above the floor board, behind the plastic panel. They usually have a red or black button. Sometimes you can see the button, and sometimes you must move a small bit of rubber like material (not sure about your particular model).
Check the fuel pump relay. It's a fairly common problem and an easy fix. The relay is located in the power distribution box under the hood by the battery. This chart should help identify it: http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker...3d800ba8f3.jsp . You'll have to scroll down to the right year and blow it up to read it.
Just finished my son's a couple of weeks ago,
2 hrs start to finish,
Pump complete 150.00 NAPA, retainer ring 29.00(ford only part) in BC, Canada.
Clean the top of the tank well so no dirt falls inside, quick way to kill new pump..
Make sure you get a new sock (internal filter) for pump. and remember to change the main filter as well, reduces back presure..
you will need a release tool to disconnect the pump and the external filter...
Dont forget to release the fuel pressure in the line before opening connections...
