Another thing i may do is give the traction bars a coat of some black paint. I dont really like that red.

Mine came black.

That is the reson, if you are looking at the picture that I did before I bought mine, you will also see a red leaf spring, that is just showing another item they sell. I ask Mark about that very issue before I made the purchase.

When you get it all installed, make sure you have your wheels back on and all the truck back down so it is sitting normal before you hook the adjustable end to the hanger, the truck weight on the leaf springs will make a big differance on the screw in adjustment.

Good luck, and like I said, if I can help just yell.

ok i got the kit today and am going to put it on tomorrow. i have a few questions. how does the front braket go? the 3 bolts form a triangle and i would imagine that the triangle should point down but it says to make the bar as horizontal as possible and if you do it the other way it would be lower but i assume that pointing the triangle bolt pattern down is correct. Also what did you torque your u bolts to? and i am supposed to have the rod end centered with the tires on and down on the ground according to what you said correct? the directions act as though you need to have the wheels off and on the jack stands. thanks for the help

ok i have another question for ya but found an answer to one. i found the torque specs 1/2 in 45-70, 9/16 in 85-115. I havent looked under the pickup yet but i would assume the front bracket goes as close to the front leaf spring mount as possible. The "typical ford mount" isnt like the bracket i have but it shows it on top of the front leaf spring "eye" or w/e you call it so that is probably how it goes correct?

A single bar set up should point as close as possible to the front spring eye so both the spring and the bar travel in the same arc.

The instructions are pretty plain, but to explain why I suggested to let the truck down before installing the adjustable end to the hangers is as follows:

The instructions said to support the truck with floor jacks located in front of the spring hangers, and this takes all the weight off of the leaf springs.

The directions did not say to let the truck down before connecting the adjustable end to the hangers, but when I did it without putting weight on the leaf springs, it pushed the end of the bar to the rear of the hangers as soon as the truck weight was on the springs and seemed to preload the axle. The instructions says the attatching bolt should be in the middle of the slot so the rods will travel in the slots for twisting terrain and a slight amount of spring wrap up witch makes for smother power/torque delivery. It also states that overly restricting movement in either direction will limit suspension travel causing suspension bind. so I disconected it and lowered it back down and readjusted and reatatched the ends and they were correct per instructions.
