rebuild or replace?

I stick to the 300. They can be done up for power. A loacl FTE member here has done his with an offy 4bbl holley and he chirps the tires even at 60. Gas mileage is another thing.
He loves it an it is cheaper to rebuild than those bigger motors. Also his is on an 82. So to convert from EFI to carb I do not know what is neede to be done.

but for 4x4 application, wouldnt i want to keep the EFI? how much power will i lose going to the carb? and what all is needed to do the swap? and do the 240 heads just bolt right on or is there modification needed? thanks all of yall for the help.
