I have a 1991 ford 300 I'm currently rebuilding. It's already taken down, ready to be sent to the machine shop. However this is my first rebuild, and I'm having trouble finding performance parts (forged crank/pistons etc) and I don't really know where to go from here. I've been lurking for quite a while now, so I know you guys are the expert. When price isn't your main concern, what's the best list of rebuild parts available? I'm also looking to add a blower eventually. Basically I want to turn the F150 I pulled it from into a bad *** street truck.
EDIT:
It is the EFI version, so I'm also wondering if it's simpler to just replace that system with a carburetor, assuming I'm buying new headers.
Not an expert, but I have been researching parts for my rebuild. Clifford performance is one resource. Also Summit racing and Jegs offer alot of what you are looking for.
Then you better get ready to put on a blower. The only way to get close to 500 horsepower N/A is if you had a crossflow head like the FTF. Even with that head, he's running 3 Holley 500 CFM two-barrels.
To get close to 500 horsepower, you'll be shelling out some bucks too.

I'm hoping to get a roots type supercharger. How much would you estimate the build cost at? (minus the supercharger)
JMO, 500-600 hp (if you can make it) is race only range for a 300 and won't be street drivable. A cost estimate might be had from a performance shop...might be. A build like you are contemplating is much too rare for anyone here to help with. You might try the Speed Talk Forum which is populated by Engine Masters types and other professional performance gurus.
