18" rim owners please chime in

Hello. Ford rebalanced my crappy 18" BFG rugged terrains....and it didnt work. My service manager buddy said if I find a suitable replacement for the stock tires (he knows they are crap), he will pay for two of the four. What do you all run? Plus sized is ok. Ive hated these BFGs since new, and since I didnt have a choice on the rim size, Im stuck. Thanks

BFG All Terrains are nice tires if they make your size.

I almost bought the 37x12.50R18 BFG Mud Terrains but went with the Pro Comp XTerrains 37x13.50R18.

The closest AT BFG is on national backorder.....like it has been for months. Dont think they will ever make it at this point.

I have run the BFG AT-KOs in the past. Yes, there were good. The only tires that have peaked my interest so far ar the Nitto Terra Grapplers. Anyone have info on them?

I ran both the Nitto Terra Grapplers 325/60R18 and 325/65R18 and would recommend them to anyone.

After the Leveling kit I went with the 325/60R18 (33's)! Got 12-15k on them before selling them.

After the Body lift I went to 325/65R18 (35's)! I currently have 15-16k on them and trying to sell them.

After the Suspension lift I went with the Pro Comp XTerrains 37x13.50R18 due to the March deal they offered.

I was strongly considering the Nitto Mud Grappler 38x15.50R18 or the Nitto Terra Grappler 355/65R18.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I am a die hard Michelin guy, so straying from that is quite difficult. I might just buy some new 17" rims, and widen the horizon of choices. Being stuck with 5 or 6 choices is for the birds!

Nope he has to replace all 4 and rebalance free of charge. Ford sent out an extended warranty on all 2004 and 2005 new body F150's on tires. They are now covered by 36,000 miles as opposed to the 12,000 as originally stated. If he is so sure the tires are causing you problems tell him to call Ford and get up to date on the new extended tire warranty!

Oh, I know all about the warranty. I am talking about non OEM tires. I dont want anything to do with the replacement BFGs they will give me (money permitting...otherwise Ill bite the bullet and stick with the oems). He said that he could get two non-oem tires paid for. The cost differential to Ford would be quite a bit.

I have those tires 18" and no problems. I see some wear starting on the edge but I am almost to 20,000 mi. I have seen the problems stated alot but feel lucky that I am not having the problem. I may go to michelin next but the cost may stop me. Good luck!!

I have the Goodyear LT 275 65 18's and am very satisfied with them. They were the option on the FX4 I

I have had zero problems with them, great in the snow and the rain. The only thing you can say is they are a tad louder than the Pmetric's but that is because they are an LT tire and the tread design that gets rid of the snow and mud are a little more agressive.

I currently have the Goodyears and as soon as they wear out, hopefully BF Goodrich will have the AT's in stock or who knows, maybe a 35x12.5 AT available.
