Door Chime

'05 F350 SuperDuty - Make the beeping stop!! Can't find the chime.
& this newer truck doesn't seem to have the solution i have read for
the older vehicles. Does anybody know either where the chime is or
where the wire is?

Is it chiming when it is not supposed to (like with the door closed) or are you just wanting to remove the chime altogther?

door chime removal

it is working as advertised.
i do not want any chime when i have the door open with the key in.
i disassembled half the dash trying to find it. it's like a cricket, it echoes.
my last truck '96 f350 was easy, i killed it in minutes. this one appears to
be behind or a part of the instrument cluster. it's nice that ford gives the
"simple" 9 step routine to disable the seat belt chime, but what about this?
is there a wire to cut, or is it the taping of the contacts in the key tumbler?
or, hopefully, is there a physical chime i can grab, and throw really, really far?

I found mine inside of the instrument cluster,a round black buzzer a little smaller than a quarter.

thanks, that's where i thought i was hearing it from.
i had half the dashboard apart.
any suggestions in removing the instrument cluster?
i just got this truck 3 days ago, and it's a lot different from
my '96
