Hi. The other day i HEARD that on newer chevy's, when you get up to the speed where the governor kicks in, you can turn the ignition key as if you were going to turn it on, and it will override the governor.
no not true on chebbies just like FORDS you need to reprogram the computer and if you turned the ignition off at 100 you would lose power steering power brakes and most cut off at 97 mph
What I heard was not that you turn OFF the key, but rather, when the governor kicks in at its appointed speed, you turn the key ON as if you were going to start it (supposedly on Chebbies). Seems to me, you'd grind the starter, but what do I know.
Flames and exhaust huh? I'll take some wings, so I can flyyyyyyyyyyy....
Let's see, I'm already doing 100 MPH in my Silverado, when I get the urge to blow away that pesky M3 that's on my ***. Solution? Turn the ignition key to the "start" position! Success!!! Well, sort of. The M3 has dropped way back, although I think the reason has little to do with extra speed, and a lot to do with the fact that what's left of the Silverado's starter motor is sticking out of the M3's oil cooler...
